I chose “Starry Night” by Vincent
Van Gogh because of the many different curvilinear shapes that are present in
the piece. Imitating the brush strokes was difficult, so I used an eraser tool
to create my own brush strokes to signify shape and color. For the stars, I
gave it a transparent look to represent a ‘glowing’ feel. As for the focal point,
it resides in the two swirling clouds that occupy the middle space and a pillar
of fire that extends from the left side of the piece. This was a difficult
piece to re-create, however I believe it came out pretty alright.
